My recommendation for the not so very much experienced gamer: Purchase some water arrows, some healing potions, and some flashbombs.

There is no need to purchase any more rope arrows, flares, moss- or broadhead arrows, but it may be helpful to have either the invisibility potion or some noisemaker arrows for the inside of the Cathedral.

About the keys

Key type Function

All of the golden keys are possibly the key to the safe that you are looking for. You will notice that you have the right key in 3 ways: 1. At the end of the conversation, Karras will tell his followers where they can find the key. 2. Garrett will give comments whenever he picks up a key after he heard the conversation. In most cases, this will be a "wrong key"-comment, but in the case of the correct key, he will say that he "will need to put the key back to this place when he has finished the objectives." (sorry, I can't provide you with the correct transscript of his comment as yet - I suppose that a transscript of the german comment doesn't help everyone that much. ;) ) 3. The correct key is marked as "safe key" in your inventory, when you scroll through it.

I found no use for the other golden keys (all the doors were pickable), but I typically collect all of them nonetheless. :)
